Himalayan pink salt is not only a culinary delight, but a nutrient rich,
therapeutic food which is definitely a staple for any healthy pantry.
Himalayan salt provides amazing health benefits for our adrenal glands, cellular health and hydration, detoxification and digestion to name a few.

What is Himalayan Salt
This is one of the purest salts you can find, and comes from the mines
beneath the Himalayan Mountain Range.

The gorgeous pink colour represents it’s rich mineral content, with over 84 natural elements that are essential for good health, such as calcium, magnesium, iodine, potassium and iron.

Why we need salt
Sodium chloride (salt) is vital for maintaining the healthy function of our cells, nerve conduction, absorption of nutrients and elimination of waste.

cardiovascular risk. However there’s little evidence to support this and any harmful effects were mainly due to high sodium diets from too many

Table salt is heavily processed, stripping it of any minerals.
This leaves you with just one mineral, sodium chloride, some

Table salt contains up to 99.9% sodium chloride, whereas Himalayan salt
is around 87% due to the abundance of other minerals.

Ingredients
500ml filtered water
1/2 tsp himalayan pink salt
1/4 to 1/2 lemon squeezed

Add the water and salt to a large glass and stir well. You can prepare this the night before so the salt dissolves completely in the water, or just leave it for about 5-10 minutes. Then add the fresh lemon and drink on waking before breakfast, followed by another glass of water.
